Hey dude, really like the lighting/presentation looks sweeeet! the only part that is not getting it done for me is the barrel, it just seems flat for some reason. I would try playing around with some layer styles on your masked layer to get a really thin outline going by the shiny bits, and then maybe run that same masked layer through nvidia/crazybump/nDo (what have you) and overlay the result subtly into the normal map just to give it a little bite. You are really close, all the major stuff is spot on
I like the fancy metal bits, they came out well. How do you plan to do final renders for this? You could put a couple of them on top of a barrel or something, with some flint and a powder horn.
I agree with Ev. The barrel could be a bit more pitted and oily. I also think the pommel at the bottom looks a little plain compared to the high poly. It had a nice curved taper, but now it's more or less a straight cut. The round bit at the bottom of the pommel looks a littly plasticy as well.
